April 6, 2010

Enfield Room– 6:30 p.m.

Present

Diane Carlone, Hal Grout, Mary Keller, Yvonne Wollenberg , Barbara Kelly, Terri Jedynak , Bill Lee, Cathy Sperrazza and Betty McGuire

We had a representative from the Hartford Arts Council, Lauren Miller, who spoke with us about promoting ECAC with other organizations within the area as well as within the town of Enfield.  She handed out material for us to peruse and contacts should we be interested in further instruction or guidance.

Bill Lee mentioned that we would use a proposal type of form for future events in dealing with our expenses.  It was also mentioned that we might want to come up with an on-line form for people attending our various events.

Bill Lee also mentioned that the town will be hosting a State Dinner for our sister City and wanted to know if we are interested in participating.  We are interested!

Acceptance of Minutes

Acceptance of minutes was overlooked.

Diane mentioned that we should come up with our menu for the trip to the Culinary Institute in October.  It is as follows:

First Course – Cold Cut Platter

          Main Meal – Veal

          Dessert – Chocolate Cake

          Coffee and Tea

We will be eating at the Italian Restaurant, Caterina De’Medici, and our trip will include a tour of the institute.

Terri was unable to get an up-to-date report for our meeting.  She will have this information for us at our next meeting.

Staff Liaison Report

Mary Keller said no one called the Recreation Department for our trip to New port on Saturday, April 10.  We will be leaving from behind Town Hall at 8:00 a.m.  and leaving Newport at 5:00 p.m. for the return trip.

Old Business

Barbara Kelly brought in information on the King Tut exhibit in New York City.  We decided that Saturday, September 25, would be a good time to go. The price for group tickets is $25.50 each.  We will order 40 tickets and contract for a bus.

Betty contacted Tony Romeo regarding a concert at Christmas time.  She brought in a proposal and we had a vote on how much we wanted to contribute to this event.  We decided to contribute $2,000 with a vote of 5 yes, 1 no and 1 abstain.

Barbara also mentioned the Dan Kane Singers for one of our events.  She will contact them for further information.
